It`s been a while since I`ve posted the last interview. It`s actually been a while since I posted anything really. Sorry for that, it`s been a busy month. Huh, and people say summer is more relaxed, right? ;) Well, maybe only those 14 days of vacation , but the rest is reserved for working (and some festivals and weekend getaways). ;)
If you miss my posts you can always find something new on Instagram, Facebook or Snapchat, since I try to update social media as much as possible. So, what I`m trying to say is that if you like what you see, follow me there as well. ;) (find links on the top of the page).
Ok, let`s move to serious business now.
Today I am introducing Anja Logar, a girl who is behind "Fruštek" - a local brand of granola.

Ok, let`s move to serious business now.
Today I am introducing Anja Logar, a girl who is behind "Fruštek" - a local brand of granola.
*Frušek = breakfast*
I won`t tell much, since she answered everything by herself. Enjoy the interview and order some of delicious granola here. My favourite ones are definitely the ones with raspberries that come in a mini package that is perfect to take away for work or a picnic (cuz I`m addicted to raspberries. What a healthy addiction, right?).
1. TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOURSELF
on a mission to create the brand of granolas that will convince even the most stubborn ones to have
their breakfast in the morning.
2. HOW DID YOUR STORY WITH FRUŠTEK START? WHY GRANOLA, NOT SOMETHING ELSE?
It started a few years ago just before Christmas holidays when I was thinking what to give to my
beloved ones. I decided to give some home made granola and designed a nice package and the idea
was here. It took me some time to find the name and to develope the whole branding but after
that Fruštek was born. Müsli and granola is something that has been prepared in our familiy for
ages. We have kind of home made müsli tradition, so the choice was pretty logical. :)
3. WAS IT HARD IN THE BEGINNING? I KNOW BUREAUCRACY IN SLOVENIA CAN BE STRESSFUL.
In the beginning it was mostly my own fear – to accept the challenge and start my own bussiness or
not, but reactions of people were beyond my expectation. They loved the idea, the story behind it, the
package and the content. After I had a feedback it was easier to cope with bureocracy – it was just
another obstacle to overcome.
Sure I do, but slowly, step by step. I have just launched a limited summer granola edition with
pineapple and coconut, but already developing a bunch of new product I cannot reveal yet ;) But I can
tell you that I am already thinking about Christmas gifts and that you can expect something completely new in autumn. In the future is my dream to have a tiny tiny breakfast store with different Fruštek articles, made in collaboration with different artist, like my handmade ceramic bowls from Marina Marinski, the wonderful croatian designer who designs dreamy ceramics.
5. DESCRIBE US YOUR NORMAL DAY. DO YOU EVER FEEL THERE IS NOT ENOUGH TIME FOR EVERYTHING THAT YOU WANT TO DO?
Every day is too short, indeed! And weekends as well because they are often busy as well due to promotions I make around Slovenia. My day consists of meetings, email writing, ordering supplies, baking and packing granola, promoting on social networks, updating web store, making packages for distribution and a lot of other paperwork and bureocracy as well.
6. WHERE DO YOU FIND INSPIRATION?
Everywhere. In new tastes, new flavours, new combinations. Old varieties of wheat mostly.
In nature, cities, people, books, birds, all the nice stuff around me. And cute little details. I love creating and DIY projects.
7. I LOVE BREAKFASTS AND I ENJOY BEING CREATIVE WITH THEM. IS FOR YOU THE SAME? WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE MEAL OF THE DAY?
Breakfast, indeed! I usually start my day with a nice breakfast in a nice bowl on a nice place mat and
always with fresh flowers in a vase! It`s my ritual and the whole philosophy in Fruštek is to encourage you that breakfast becomes your habit. I rarely skip it and if I really do not have time to eat it at home I always grab something and have it on the way. I like being creative with breakfasts but honestly, I do not really find time for that because all the creativity goes in developing Fruštek brand.
8. WHO ARE YOUR BEST CUSTOMERS? ARE YOU SELLING FRUŠTEK ONLY IN SLOVENIA OR WORLDWIDE AS WELL?
My best customers are people who appreciate buying local, handmade and from small stores. People,
who undestand the effort put in a box of granola and don`t hesitate when they have to pay a little bit more. I sell it mostly in Slovenia, but planning to go abroad as well.
9. DO YOU TRAVEL A LOT? YOUR FAVOURITE CITY WOULD BE? ARE YOU INSPIRED BY TRAVELS AS WELL?
I used to when I was a student. However, I still have been to Monte Negro, London and France
recently and if it was up to me I`d travel all the time. It is just something that inspires me the most because I can free my mind, experince new things and fresh ideas just pop in! I do not have a
favourite city, but my favourite place on earth is for sure Bohinj. :)
10. IS THERE ANY THOUGHT, RECIPE, PHOTO, QUOTE, SONG, MOVIE, .. ANYTHING REALLY, THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHARE?
»Your dream job do not exist. You must create it« ;)
Just how cute is this package? A perfect gift (for yourself or others)! |
You can buy "Fruštek" in this locations or order it online.
I hope you enjoyed the interview. In the future I will keep them oriented to local products/brands/people, because I am aware how important it is to show and give support to everything local. There is so many people and companies giving their everything to survive and make the world a better place, so maybe before you go and buy something, try to make a research to find out if there is someone near you that is selling exactly what you need and just maybe, you`ll find out that your neighbour is making the best cheese. It`s local, you can see the production, you can meet the people behind it, you can make sure their story is real and you know it wasn`t traveling for 10 days in containers full of chemicals, which basically means you`re buying the good stuff + maybe you even make a new friend while doing it. ;) What do you think about it? Are you supporting locals? Let`s talk abou it. ;)
Much love,
Maja
Luštna zgodbica zajtrka:)
ReplyDeleteMeni so zanimive. Jih pa vedno prehitro zmanjka. Meni zmagovalna? Domača granola z mandlji in kakavom.
Naj se poletje nadaljuje v tempu, ki ga imaš najraje.
